We explored Pier 21 Theater and the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum, awesome cultural highlights. The free shuttle to the cruise ship was a huge plus, and we appreciated the affordable parking for our vehicle while we were away. Just a heads-up, the rooms are basic but clean, so don't expect luxury.
One downside was the front desk experience upon check-in. The staff member wasn't very cute, and that created a sour first impression. I hope they improve that aspect .

Room was adequate for the price we paid.
Our credit card was charged $225.64 for "automobile parking and garage" by Scottish Inn, when we were told we had free parking at the hotel while on our 5-day Carnival Cruise. No one has returned my numerous phone calls to resolve this.

It was just a reliable pick for a weekend jaunt in Galveston with great value for the money. The continental breakfast was minimal, but I was able to ask for extra items when needed. Make sure to check the shuttle schedule before your trip, as it only runs on weekends.

Adequate for a Short Stay
It served its purpose for a quick getaway. The staff were friendly, but the hotel showed signs of neglect. Make sure to check your room for cleanliness before settling in. A quick drive will take you to some great nearby dining options.

The room I had was beautiful with bathroom, coffee and very out dated. I loved cereal, fruit, cookies, yogurt and pastries for breakfast. The location of the hotel was best possible, very close to cruise port. Amicable and accommodating staff as I wanted.

Not bad for the price
So, we stayed here for a night and honestly, the place isn't terrible. The bed was super comfy, and I loved having a mini-fridge. The shady wifi situation was a bummer though, and I found a roach in the bathroom. It's cheap for memorial day weekend, but you gotta manage your expectations.

This was a huge hotel room that was very clean. The room contains a refrigerator and a microwave, too. The innkeeper is a nice friendly man who was very helpful. I highly recommend this place.
The only thing that I did not like was the hardness of the bed. I would have liked a softer mattress.
